The Kimberly Center for Personality Development and Integrated Healing

Due to biology, temperament, and a fundamental incongruity between the environment of origin and the emotional needs of the individual, some have the potential to develop a damaging understanding of themselves that can manifest in chronic interpersonal difficulties, severe mood fluctuation, and persistent self-harming behaviors.

Unfortunately, this condition---known as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)---can, in its worst form, result in cutting or other physically self-harming behaviors, eating disorders, addictions, and, at worst, chronic suicidal ideation and suicide.

Unfortunately BPD is often misunderstood, not only by society at large, but also by mental health professionals who either view treatment as too difficult to undertake or who mistakenly view the individual’s initial presentation of competence as an accurate barometer for his or her more intensely pained internal world. In either case, the condition is all to often poorly understood and treated by under qualified clinicians, resulting in needless suffering and significant life impairment.

Inspired by a dear friend of Dr. Jones who, tragically, took her life in college, The Kimberly Center is dedicated to helping those individuals who may be struggling with this complex set of symptoms to have the opportunity to overcome self-sabotaging, self-harming, and ineffective ways of living. Rather than simply coming from a pejorative understanding of the difficult clinical symptoms experienced, the treatment team at the Kimberly Center  is dedicated to employing an integrated understanding of the best clinical science in order to help individuals not only develop insight into their condition, but effect significant positive change that will both reduce suffering and allow the individual to experience the fullness of life’s potential on a daily basis.
